Charts And Graphs: Buying Apps
2A while back, there was a conversation ongoing regarding why we sometimes have a hard time paying what is really a small amount of money for some pretty decent games or apps for iOS and Android devices. A comic on The Oatmeal pretty much nails the feeling, so go peek at that, and come back (I have more to tell you!)
I bought a new game for the iPad this morning, a pseudo board game that got good reviews and looked pretty fun. It was only $0.99, so I didn’t feel bad about it at the time, but I later started wondering if I was ever going to get around to playing it. I’ve purchased a few other apps in the past week or so, and I haven’t gotten back to those. Why would I expect this day’s purchase to be any different? I’m running a sizable backlog at the moment, and I’m more apt to delete apps I haven’t gone back to in order to make way for new apps I’ll probably never get to.
So I came up with a formula that I can refer to when I feel the urge to buy a new app. I’m going to set it up as the wallpaper on the iPad, so I can see it every time, just before I venture into the App Store.
